Ole Poulsen is a producer, cinematographer and filmdirector, who is head of the Producers Department since 1991 and since 2003 Vice director and head of international relations at  The National Film School of Denmark. He trained as a portrait photographer in 1960 and cinematographer at the National Film School of Denmark from 1966-68. Throughout his extensive career in the film business, he has founded and worked in several film groups, such as ABCinema and Filmgroup Düsseldorf, as well as several production companies, of which he still owns Ole John Film. He was responsible for the film and media department at The Academy of  Fine Arts in Düsseldorf 1971-76 and for the Danish Filmworkshop 1977-84. He also actively engages in several associations, for instance as co-founder and expert in EDN (European Documentary Network) and on the advisory board at Copenhagen Business School.
