INSIGHT OUT about hff potsdam

INSIGHT OUT is organised by and takes place at HFF Film & Television University “Konrad Wolf” Potsdam-Babelsberg. HFF is one of Europe’s leading art academies focusing on film & television production.

 

Germany’s oldest film school

HFF was founded in 1954 and is the oldest and largest among the five media universities in Germany. Initially modelled on the Soviet All-Union Institute for Cinematography (VGIK), it became the German Democratic Republic’s foremost film and television academy. Following Germany’s reunification, it is now the only art academy in the state of Brandenburg.

State-of-the-art equipment

HFF owns the equipment for completely digital production workflows. In addition, HFF is proud to offer its students the possibilty to shoot in stereo 3D using high-definition cameras. For INSIGHT OUT participants, HFF opens its doors to let them benefit from the unique training facilities.

40 professors, 114 lecturers and approx. 90 technical and administrative staff work in HFF’s new building, which the school moved into in 2000. It was specifically tailored to the requirements of a media school and is located next to the famous Babelsberg studio area.
