Over six days, 51 filmmakers, directors, producers and postproduction experts from 26 countries came together for the international symposium INSIGHT OUT / HFF Academy 2008 from March 10 to 15, 2008 in Potsdam-Babelsberg. There were discussions at the Academy for Film and Television „Konrad Wolf“ (HFF) with top-notch media professionals about the new working processes for digital film production and their experiences with high-definition formats for D-Cinema and HDTV. The link to practical experience was provided with the first ever staging of a HD Expo.

The programme of the international symposium INSIGHT OUT at the Academy for Film & Television (HFF) „Konrad Wolf“ is now complete!
The new working processes for digital film production are at the centre of this year's programme for the international symposium INSIGHT OUT / HFF Academy 2008 from March 10 to 15: renowned speakers from Europe and America will talk in a programme of lectures about their experiences and practical work in high-definition formats for D-Cinema and HDTV. Parallel to this, the HD Expo will be staged over two days where filmmakers themselves can try out digital technology to the value of over 1 million Euros.

As the last area in film production, the acquisition, i.e. recording of images is now being digitalised. Digital cameras are recording to tape, memory card or hard disk drives, which fundamentally alters working processes at film sets that have been established for decades. The international workshop INSIGHT OUT / HFF Academy 2008 provides film-makers with comprehensive information about the possibilities and challenges of these new data-based work flows.

Potsdam, 02/Apr/07. For six days 80 filmmakers, directors, producers and media experts from nearly 30 countries discussed the changes in production methods for film and TV. Film production’s digitalisation and globalisation were at the heart of the international INSIGHT OUT symposium from March 19-24 2007 at the Film and Television University „Konrad Wolf“ (HFF) in Potsdam, Germany. Oliver Berben, producer of the successful German TV-mini-series „Africa, mon Amour“ for which he used a digital camera fort he first time, summed up his positive experiences: „Just do it in HD!“.
