Digital production rooted in tradition
INSIGHT OUT is hosted by and takes place at HFF Film & Television University “Konrad Wolf” Potsdam-Babelsberg. HFF is one of Europe’s leading art academies focusing on film & television production.
Germany’s oldest film school
HFF was founded in 1954 and is the oldest and largest among the five media universities in Germany. Initially modelled on the Soviet All-Union Institute for Cinematography (VGIK), it became the German Democratic Republic’s foremost film and television academy. Following Germany’s reunification, it is now the only art academy in the state of Brandenburg.
State-of-the-art equipment
HFF is the only film school internationally that owns the equipment for an almost complete digital production chain (see list below). In addition, HFF is the first school to have already shot in 3D using high-definition cameras (ARRI D20plus). For INSIGHT OUT participants, HFF opens it doors to let them benefit from the unique facilities at HFF and the experience of its teaching staff in digital filmmaking.
